Rain update: God v. Magical Wishing Ferret

Here are the preliminary results from the God/Ferret face-off, in which we ask the musical question: Which supernatural method is most likely to bring rains to a parched and thirsty land?

Week one, God

Method: Fasting and praying.
Rainfall: Piddling.

Week two, Magical Wishing Ferret

Meep!

Method: Making a wish, rubbing the spot on your monitor where his cute tummy is, giving Daniel chocolate.
Rainfall: Trifling.

It’s a wash.

But I’ve figured out why. I have had it revealed that in order for the MWF to work, you must not believe in him. Anyone exercises faith in him in the least degree, and all bets are off. Please do not believe in the Magical Wishing Ferret. You may leave expressions of your lack of faith in the MWF in comments. Thank you.

There. That ought to do something.

  1. Well, I don’t believe in the magical wishing ferret, and DID IT BRING CRICKET CANCELLING RAIN AFTER LUNCH TODAY? DID IT? NO.

Maybe someone else on here has faith.

    Stupid ferret.

Come to Burswood tonight and every night up to Christmas, including Christmas Eve to see us sing carols. Singing occurs in the Hotel foyer at 7pm and 8pm and there are plenty of comfy chairs. You can even join in if you want.

  4. Well I DID buy lots of different chocolates for the MWF but I ended up eating them all. I wondered if I had angered it all over again, so I bought lots more, but ate all that as well. Lucky…… seeing as it doesn’t really exist…..

  6. Hello Dan,

Well thank the MWF, my power is back on! Just thought I’d let you know all was well and its nice to have a hot shower again. At least our gas fireplace worked without electricity so we stayed warm through the whole thing.

    Lots o love.

  7. Hey, jeffrey, glad you’re okay.

That must have been some storm — I called my mom in Eastern Washington, and she said “It’s really windy over here,” and I was like all, oh, really? Then I called my sister in Seattle, and she said, “It’s really windy here,” and that was when I realised, “Holy crap, it’s the same huge storm.”

    Man.

Oh, and while it’s important not to believe in the MWF, some of you are a little pointed about it, and it’s pissing him off.

    Hiss!

  8. Ooo…so like all great deities, the MWF only blesses those that do as he says. Bummer. I was hoping for a truly benevolent being to put my faith in. Damn, I’ll have to look elsewhere on the net.
